Now IN the End-Time
About a year ago someone sent me a taped sermon given by a minister who is in one of the larger organizations that split off from the Worldwide Church of God. In that sermon, he mocked the idea that we are now "in" the end of the age. If anyone in the scattered Church of God fails to truthfully acknowledge our recent history- fails to be a faithful witness concerning the truth of those things we have been experiencing as a Church, then they will not be able to grasp the awesome importance to their spiritual well-being that we are indeed IN the end of this age.
Every one of us who has been a part of the Body of Christ should know the time in which we are living. If we believe we are indeed the true Church of God (those who have the impregnation of God's Holy Spirit- who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ in their lives), then we should be able to easily acknowledge the truths about our history over the past 80 years. The events of this period of time reveal more fully that we are indeed God's Church at the end of this age.
Nearly a third of the Bible is prophetic, and the vast majority of prophecy is about this time in which we are living. The Church has been in the midst of fulfilling a great deal of prophecy that focuses on end-time events that lead into a final period of great physical tribulation that will come upon this whole world. This article will be the first of several in this booklet that will focus on different areas of scripture that prove we are IN the end of this age.
The clearer you see and are able to believe the truth of who we are and where we are in time, the greater your spiritual strength can become, the stronger your faith can be, and the better prepared you will be for the traumatic time of physical tribulation that concludes all end-time events.
Failure to acknowledge these scriptural proofs that we are in the end of this age will result in brethren drifting farther into spiritual sluggishness and sleep. This kind of blindness causes people to grasp at false security. Too many find it more comfortable to trust in lies concerning the Church. Such lies include the false teaching that this is a time of growing peace within the Church- a time when people are successfully regrouping and are once again working together in harmony, after a troubled time of great chaos experienced in Worldwide Church of God. If you know that this is the end of this age, then you will know that such teaching is false and only works to move brethren farther away from working at the things they are supposed to be doing.
Failure to believe what God says about His Church at this end-time is a refusal to accept the true testimonies of God- His witness of our condition at this time! It is this very refusal that has permeated the Church for the past seven years and has become a witness against us. That is why time has run out for the scattered Church of God. The articles in this booklet can only serve now to aid brethren in their repentance as God brings them to this understanding. Only a small remnant will be called by God to repentance out of the scattered Church.
If you believe the words of God concerning the end of the age, just before the Kingdom of God comes to this earth, then you will know that you are living in that very time. You will believe Him when He tells you that this is a time of mourning, lamentation, and woe. You will believe Him when He condemns the lie about this being a time of peace and safety. Any minister or organization that distracts brethren from what is true is working against God and the power of God's spirit that should be leading into greater understanding, truth, and faith.
Although brethren throughout the ages have been able to profit spiritually from many scriptures that focus on the warnings and admonitions that refer to a very specific time at the end, those same scriptures are never-the-less focused on very specific events that do occur at the end-time. One example that fits very closely to what we just touched upon in the previous paragraph is found in 1 Thessalonians. "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefo re let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober" (1 Thessalonians 5:1-6). This is much needed instruction at this time! If we are indeed following the lead of God's spirit, we will be in the light- able to understand the truth that there has been a great ongoing thrust within the environs of the Church that deceitfully seeks to persuade people that now is a time of peace and safety.
Ezekiel records some very pointed words regarding what God has to say about ministers who seek to persuade brethren that times are positive concerning the Church- portraying a picture of peace, great works, and positive growth and safety within their fellowship. "Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken? Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD. And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my peop le, neither of the house of Israel, neither shall they en ter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD. Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace;" (Ezekiel 13:7-10).
Lies concerning our true condition turn brethren away from understanding. Our ability to understand where we are in time will help stir up a greater sense of urgency in our lives which will in turn help move us to draw closer to God to become more spiritually alert and better prepared for the difficult times yet ahead. Faith and confidence are multiplied when we trust more fully in the word of God- when we believe those things that are now being fulfilled in our lives exactly as He said they would be, by His true testimony.
We are far into the prophetic period of time at the end of 6,000 years of man on this earth that scripture refers to as being the time of the end. It is a period of time that precedes the day that the Kingdom of God comes to this earth. It is a period of time that includes that final day as well as a period of time of great physical tribulation on this earth that will last for 3 1/2 years. Other end-time events spoken of in scripture precede even this final time of great tribulation. These events go back to a time where prophecy revealed that the "end" would come at a time when great desolation began on the Church.
Few seem to understand that we are indeed "Far" into the end-time spoken of in prophecy. We are now at the end of a prophetic scattering of the Church, and great physical tribulation will soon follow! Are you indeed preparing for the very soon-coming Kingdom of God? Sadly, there will be some who will not read these words un til they are "in" the final great tribulation.
The following articles give absolute proof of where we are in prophecy- where we are "in" end-time events (at the time this is being written). These are the testimonies of God- the sure word of God for this end-time!
